Five Lies Young People believe about Sensuality

Five Lies Young People Believe about Sensuality from Proverbs 7

Proverbs 7 is one of the premier chapters in the Word of God on seduction and sensuality. Proverbs 7 gives a straightforward warning about immorality. The issues addressed in Proverbs 7 are the same issues that are very prevalent today. Here are five common lies used to convince young people to be immoral.

Lie#1 “It doesn’t matter how I dress.” -Proverbs 7:10

Television and other media have made a mock of modesty, but God still desires for young people to dress appropriately. As Christians, your clothing should not draw attention to yourself in a sensual manner, but give glory to God.

Lie#2 “Romantic physical contact between two unmarried people is harmless.” -Proverbs 7:13

Romantic physical contact is a dangerous area in the life of a young person. In many cases it is a gateway to sexual immorality. A relationship based on arousing or fulfilling physical desires outside of marriage is very dangerous.

Lie#3 “If I am doing the right things outwardly, I must be alright inwardly.” -Proverbs 7:14,15

Right actions do not make a right heart, but a right heart produces right actions. Many Christian young people believe their love for each other is different than the “dirty” and “perverted” love of the non-Christian. The devil wants Christian young people to believe that their sexual/sensual behavior is somehow justified because of their “good”  Christian lifestyle.

Lie#4 “No one will ever find out.” -Proverbs 7:18-20

This is one of the biggest lies the devil uses to tempt young people! Even if no one ever finds out in your lifetime, God knows!

Lie#5 “This will not hurt me. I can handle it.” Proverbs 7:26,27

Greater people than you have thought this, and they were wrong!
